Survivor Becoming an Advocate

I was wondering if it is advisable for a survivor to become an advocate. I am already a peer educator on my campus and we dedicate a whole semester to sexual violence, especially with the problem "Take Back the Night." This is my second time being raped, as it was this past October and I'm just now going into some kind of therapy or counseling. I'm scared and I don't exactly feel like myself, but at the same time, I want to be able to do something to help others and to help prevent this from happening to other people.
